It is a time for choosing. On October 27, 1964, future President Ronald Reagan delivered this speech, A Time for Choosing in his endorsement of Barry Goldwater for President. Known as “The Speech”, Reagan provided warning of the power of government and the dangers of Lyndon Johnson’s Great Society. The Speech became one of the greatest political speeches in American political history. It was a huge success that propelled Ronald Reagan into a national figure. We now are facing our time for choosing.

It is a time for choosing. You already know it, you see it. You can sense that much of what made this nation great is slowly being taken away. So now it is your time for choosing. The Democratic Party has ruled Delaware since 2009, the year Republicans lost control of the House and it is time to get Republicans back in the office.

It is a time for choosing. The Biden regime and Democratic Party policies have botched the response to COVID-19. They shut down our economy. Ruined small businesses, restaurants, and local gyms forcing them to close. All of this for a disease that for the overall population has a survivor rate of over 99%.

It is time for choosing. They quarantined the healthy instead of the sick. They forced our children into virtual learning and canceled high school sports, robbing seniors of the opportunity for college scholarships. The impact of keeping our children home had a disastrous effect on education. Delaware Department of Education conducts an annual Report Card and this is how it measured up last academic year:

Only 42.18% of students were proficient in English language arts (ELA) last school year.

Only 26.59% of students were proficient in math last school year.

Only 58.59% of 12th-grade students were college and/or career-ready.

It is a time for choosing. The Biden regime reversed the Trump administration policies on our southern border. What had been a secure border has now turned into chaos with the Democratic open border policies creating a flood of illegal aliens into this country. It is stated the over 1.3 MILLION immigrants have been apprehended at the border this year, and Fox News reports that since August 6 over 70,000 illegal aliens have been released into the US.  While the Biden regime imposed an unconstitutional mandate that all federal employees as well as companies who have over 100 employees must have their employees vaccinated or risk significant fines, these illegal aliens walking across our borders have no such requirement.

It is a time for choosing. In a recent article by the Caesar Rodney Institute, several comparisons were made between Delaware in 2002 to Delaware in 2020.  Delaware’s per capita personal income was 18% above the national average in 2002, and in 2020 it was 5% below the national average. From 2002-2020 total earnings in the US increased 88% but rose only 47% in Delaware. From 2002-2020 nationwide income from investments rose by 129% but Delaware rose just under 89%. Transfer payments (aka Government Support) rose from 332% between 2002- 2020 but in Delaware, it rose almost 400%. The article points out the impact of economic stagnation in Delaware:

• Our youth leave the state for growth and job opportunities

• Entrepreneurs and growth companies skip Delaware for states with pro-growth policies

• Government becomes more and more central for economic support increasing costs to taxpayers.

It is a time for choosing. This list can go on and on. Inflation is climbing at its fast pace in 30 years! According to the AP, natural gas has climbed to its highest rate since 2014 (when Obama was President, Biden was VP) up over 90% from last year (when Trump was President). Look at these chilling figures on the true impact on inflation:

• Gas up 42%,

• Bacon up 19.3%,

• Eggs up 12.6%,

• Chicken up 7.6%,

• Shoes up 6.5%,

• dresses up 9.5%,

• TVs up 12.7%,

• Computers up 9.5%,

• Used Cars and Trucks up 24.4%.

 
We have supply chain issues. #EmptyShelvesJoe sweeps across America as our stores continue to report shortages. Even Transportation Secretary Buttigieg, who finally was forced to come to work during the crisis, admitted it will get worse.

So now it is your time for choosing. Choose to BE ACTIVE! You no longer have the luxury of sitting on the sidelines. Liking a Facebook post is not enough. Not being involved in choosing…choosing to watch the economic failure of our country, the loss of liberties, and watching this great nation decline.

We need help to get Republicans elected. We need financial support but we also need volunteers to staff our new Headquarters, reach out to fellow Republicans, deliver literature, help candidates, knock on doors, and make phone calls.
