Armed Forces Afghan Retreat

Yesterday we were witness to troubling testimony from our military leadership in front of the Senate Armed Services Committee. Generals Mark Milley and Kenneth McKenzie along with Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin attempted to provide an explanation for the disasterous retreat from Afghanistan. Among some of the troubling testimony was the response that both Milley and McKenzie recommended to Joe Biden that US troops should remain in Afghanistan. This is in direct conflict with the statement of Joe Biden to George Stephanopoulos in an interview for ABC News where Biden stated there was no recommendation to retain troops, as far as he can remember!

The second issue under questioning from Senator Josh Hawley from Secretary Austin where he admitted there were Americans trapped behind enemy lines in Afghanistan and they are working to get them out. This despite promises from Biden that no American would be left behind, and then that all Americans who wanted to leave left. Both of these statements are not true.

Both issues are troubling. Biden either lied numerous times to the American public, or he is not fully cognizant of circumstances due to declining mental capacity. Either of these is of great concern. We have previously called for the resignation of Biden, Milley, and Austin. Their testimony yesterday certainly adds more credence to the concern of the failure of Biden. He simply is not up to the task of being Commander in Chief. His failures and his questionable mental capacity endanger Americans and our allies. The failure of the Afghanistan retreat and their lack of succinct explanations for this failure provides no solace to the American people in their capacity. As we called for before, they should resign. Joe Biden should resign, the 25th Amendment should be implemented and Joe Biden should be impeached
